Crowdfunding sites are drowning in new ideas in technology. There are far too many to sift through and seek out the good inventions. That is why we are here. This is your weekly update on the eye-catching, new products that you should consider backing. This week features updates on crowdfunded projects that we have mentioned before.
The 3D printer has been outfitted for desktop use and reinvented thousands of times. Small developers have been given all that they need to begin creating their ideas, except for a desktop vacuum former. The Vaquform was developed to bring a vacuum former for those first prototypes or small jobs without needing an industrial model. The new vacuum former will reach the market at the $600 mark after a successful Kickstarter campaign.
PC builders know how to squeeze parts into very tight spaces. The SENTRY was designed to house a full gaming PC into a console sized case without sacrificing on performance. Maximizing on ventilation and component placement, the SENTRY is a sharp case with a slim form. The SENTRY exceeded its goal on IndieGoGo and you can be looking out for the case on the market for around $235.
Gaming has becoming an enormous industry reaching much farther than just console VS. PC. Mobile gaming has taken the industry in force, but the smartwatch has not grasped gaming yet. The Gameband was developed to bring gaming into the smartwatch arena and make gaming on your watch even more powerful than gaming on some phones. Housing a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and expandable storage, the Gameband is the most powerful smartwatch at just $200.
Camera gliderails are not a new invention, but the STARSLIDER brings more than just a gliderail to the table. STARSLIDER is a gliderail with a panning and tilting abilities that can all be controlled with an app. The rail was created to be able to preset camera movements and create smooth video for beautiful, cinematic videography and timelapse. We are happy to announce that Starslider has exceeded their funding goals on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo, and this versatile and elegant camera slider will be heading to the market.
LenzO was created as an iPhone housing for deep water imagery complete with filters and a unique touchscreen method. While the LenzO is a little clunky in size, the features are nothing short of amazing. The LenzO retails for $400 but a pledge of only $229 will get you a Lenzo during their Kickstarter campaign if it is successful. Unfortunately, the LenzO has only reached 70% in funding and does not appear to be on track to complete funding by February 23. ValsTech, Inc. may still produce the LenzO without full funding, but that is uncertain at this point.
