SID is the world’s first 3D camera with Augmented Reality special effects. It takes your livestream videos and selfies to a whole new level with the 3D format. Weighing at only a little over 2 ounces, it is lightweight and conveniently designed so it fits comfortably in the palm of your hands.
Weeview, a leader in 3D technology video recording, announced the crowdfunding launch of their newest product, SID. The campaign began on May 1, 2017 and will run for 40 days on Kickstarter. The SID 3D camera will retail for $299, but during the campaign, limited super early bird rewards are available for as low as $159.
SID’s key features include:
- Augmented Reality (AR) – add engaging AR effects to your 3D videos
- Livestreaming w/ Auto Follow – share the moments as it happens live and in 3D
- Selfie wiggle gram – enhance social media engagement with live selfies
Weeview also made a Gimbal to help create the best pictures and videos possible. This handheld stabilizer is much like what we have seen previously on Kickstarter, but the Gimble for SID has two device holders for your convenience (one to hold the SID camera and the other to hold your smartphone). This extra holder comes in handy so that you can livestream straight from your phone while using SID on the Gimbal.
The campaign has a goal of $25,000 which has been exceeded already. The promised backer rewards are scheduled to be distributed in August, which include:
- Limited Super Early Bird-Camera Pack for $159, almost 50% off retail price
- Awesome Super Early Bird-Cinematic Kit for only $249, include custom designed 3-Axis Gimbal
This product is a great innovation, but the developers have left out a few bits of information. First, there is no mention of battery life. There is no telling how long this will last, and a short battery life could get quite annoying. Also, there is no mention of durability. If this is to be an on-the-go type product, it will inevitably get banged up. There needs to be more information put out for these concerns.
